Description of the Saco vacation House Rental 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathrooms, 6 Sleeps
This 2-bedroom house at Ferry Beach is on the ground-floor of a 2-family house, 3rd house back fromthe ocean.The unit upstairs is not rented & owners are rarely here in the summer. Bed Setup: Each bedroom has a 1 full bed & there’s a sleep sofa (full) in the living room. Home sleeps 4 in beds 6 total using the sleep sofa. Limited ocean views from the house. Microwave, gas BBQ grille, patio set, Cable TV, bath with a shower/tub combo. House has heat, if needed It’s on a dead-end street to car traffic, good for kids. Walk to the end of street onto Surf St. (parallel to the ocean, turn left, walk by 3 streets for beach access at the end of Fairhaven Ave., about a minute walk. NOTE: I was able to get a wireless signal on my laptop from my house next door. Bring your laptop too if you want (no guarantee but it did work for me). Great fishing @ end of the Sunset Ave. at high tide. Only $1,000/wk.
Saco, ME is 3 miles south of Old Orchard Beach and part of Maine's largest sandy beach, from Camp Ellis to Scarborough, 7 miles long. This area is a quiet, quaint area unspoiled with high rises & all cottages are about 2-3 minute walk to the beach or less here at Saco Bay. You can bike or walk to restaurants and our quaint fishing harbor, FerryBeach state park, OOB and more! Plenty of fishing here right off the beach or at the mile-long Jetty in CampEllis. We're about five miles to Funtown and the Aquaboggin, both on Rte. 1 in Saco and 1-1/2 miles to OOB for amusements.
Saco & Old Orchard exits are #36 on the Maine Turnpike and are half way between Kittery & Freeport for outlet shopping; 20 minutes to South Portland to a major mall and 20 minutes to Portland. There are also many shops along Rte. 1 for antique stuff between Wells & Scarborough. The Old Port is at the waterfront with shops. We’re about 1-1/2 hours or so from the Boston area
