Our COUNTRY COTTAGE is located in scenic Lassen County -where grassy meadows, trout-filled streams, fresh pine forests, and brilliant star-filled skies...await you! The Lake Almanor area is best known as a recreation paradise and the gateway to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Lake Almanor is just minutes from the Country Cottage. Lassen Volcanic National park makes a fabulous day trip from Country Cottage. Westwood is also home of the Bizz Johnson trail head race held each Oct.
Our COUNTRY COTTAGE has been a favorite family retreat for years and we invite you and your family to share our home. Upon entering you'll find a piano and clothes and hat tree in the parlor . The living room is quite spacious and very comfortably furnished. The kitchen is bright and sunny and fully equipped for the family cook. We have table service for 16 so you will not be running the dishwasher after every meal. There is a laundry room with full size washer and dryer. You will find the Country Cottage a "home away from home".
There are 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. Two bedrooms have full size beds and the third has 2 twins. There are 2 sofa beds in the living room if needed. Presently we have 3 TV's so everyone can watch what they want and 2 VCR's and 3 dvd players. Besides games and cards, we have a nice selection of VCR tapes and there is a rental store about 2 blocks away.
If there are any Bingo fans the local people host a game down the
street every Monday night.
I think one of the most beautiful places on earth is just behind Westwood at a place that used to be called Walker Lake but is now known as Mountain Meadows Reservoir. Make sure you go there if not for the bass fishing then the scenery is worth it.
Historic Westwood will interest you with it's unique past as an early 1900's lumber mill town. Many of the original buildings still stand. Visit Westwood's museum, and take pictures below the giant statues of Paul Bunyon and Babe, his blue ox. Come explore and experience the beauty and charm of California's Lassen County!
