Mammoth Mountain is well known for being one "mammoth" ski and snowboarding mecca. Mammoth Lakes area also offers wonderful cross country trails and snow shoeing abound. You just can't beat the winters in Mammoth with a usual several hundred inches of snow yet sunny skies on many days.
