Description of the Charente vacation Farmhouse Rental 11 Bedrooms, 9 Bathrooms, 22 Sleeps
'Chez les Rois'or 'Home of the Kings' is a very large property dating back to 1842. Situated in the Charentaise countryside, in five acres of grounds and gardens the Farmhouse and the Barn form part of the courtyard setting and at the height of summer the whole of the property is surrounded by maize, vines and sunflowers. We have two pools one is for your sole use and is completely private.The jacuzzi and sauna are just for you,too.In the grounds we have a play area with swings,a slide,badminton,tennis,volley ball ,football nets and a trampoline to keep our younger guests entertained.We also have sheep and a horse called Agadir. This property offers spacious accommodation for 3/4 families or large groups of friends wishing to holiday together,celebrate a special event or even spend Christmas together;
Both the Farmhouse & the Barn have been tastefully renovated to a high standard offering comfortable accommodation for 18/22 or 3/4 families. The kitchen in the Farmhouse is quite large with enough space for 2 to 3 cooks to work in harmony. There are lots of work surfaces, cupboard space, an island unit with a built in hob, large Italian cooker and an American fridge/freezer that dispenses ice/water - a must in summer. The cupboards contain a large supply of crockery, glasses and utensils for every day use. At the rear of the Farmhouse is a huge room which was originally the “Chais”; This has been completely renovated to offer a lounge /dining area for 22 people. Large comfortable sofas with antique furniture, the 'buffet' and the 'argentier' contain a selection of quality glass wear and crockery so everyone can dine in style. There is a CD player, large plasma screen TV, and a DVD player

- Our pools are only available during May, June, July, August and September. Our Leisure Facilities: Jacuzzi and sauna are available from May till the end of October and xmas and New Year
Central heating is available in both houses from November through to April.
Logs will also be supplied should you so wish.
For one or two week holidays our changeover day is Saturday. In the summer months the letting period commences on Saturday at 4pm (day of arrival) and we strongly request that you vacate the property before 10 am (day of departure) to facilitate cleaning arrangements.
Bed linen, bathroom towels and towels for the pool are included in the price. If you are travelling with young children ask about our 'Baby and Toddler Pack It includes various items including 2 cots, cot bedding, 3 high chairs, playpen, car seat(for toddler), pushchair (9kg/18kg), potty, toilet training seat and baby bath. Notes to the Accommodation and Amenities :Outdoor Facilities & gardens, 2 superb pool areas with sun loungers, parasols, BBQ's & dining facilities for 22 people. The French windows from the 'Chais' in the Farmhouse lead directly to the pool area. The pool is 9x5 with Roman steps & surrounded by a Mediterranean garden with hibiscus, cannas, olive trees, flowering laurels & yuccas. Adjacent to the pool is a large sunbathing terrace with sun loungers & parasols. Part of the pool area is split level with a large gazebo, which affords you the comfort of dining 'al fresco' in the heat of the day. The second pool/ the communal pool is accessed from the balcony from the lounge in the Barn or by a gate in the courtyard. This is a large pool area with sun loungers, parasols, outdoor dining facilities,summer kitchen & BBQ. The pool has roman steps & has a jet stream so that you can swim against the current. You can join us for a drink round by the pool or try or Paella Soirée.

Chez les Rois is situated in the quaint picturesque village of Berneuil. The boulangerie is a two minute drive away by car,or meander through the sunflower and vine fields for your morning croissants. You can find the grocers, chemist, bank and post office at 8 kms and for major shopping Barbezieux is a ten minute drive away. Berneuil is located in the Charente, SW France. It is 30 minutes from Angouleme Airport which operates flights from London Stansted.The journey takes 1 hour and 20 minutes and operates between March and October by Ryanair. We are 50 minutes from Bordeaux Airport and one hour away from the coast. All the major Airlines fly into Bordeaux. BMI Baby operates out of the majority of UK airports and offer inexpensive flights to Bordeaux.
